LEO KBZ Series Submersible Dewatering Pumps (Models KBZ33.7 & KBZ45.5)
When civil engineering sites flood or mining quarries fill with abrasive slurries, standard drainage pumps are quickly destroyed by the sand and gravel. The LEO KBZ Series is explicitly engineered to survive and conquer these brutal conditions. Representing the pinnacle of Afrogulf’s heavy construction dewatering catalog, these massive 3-phase industrial pumps are designed to continuously extract water containing high concentrations of abrasive solids.
The defining feature of the KBZ series is its slim-line, top-discharge cooling jacket. As water is pulled in through the steel strainer, it is forced to flow upward through a channel that surrounds the entire motor casing before exiting the top port. This continuous flow acts as a liquid cooling system, allowing the pump to operate safely for extended periods—even when idling, semi-submerged, or running in very shallow water—without the risk of motor burnout.
Because abrasive sand and gravel will quickly tear apart standard cast iron, LEO equipped the KBZ series with a specialized High-Chrome Alloy semi-open impeller and suction plate. This premium material offers exceptional resistance to abrasive wear, drastically extending the pump’s lifespan in harsh slurries. Capable of surviving extreme underwater pressure, these pumps feature heavy-duty dual mechanical seals (Silicon Carbide), allowing for a massive maximum immersion depth of up to 25 meters.
